My Quilt

My mum pretty much forced me to accompany her to patchwork quilting lessons every Wednesday night when I was in year 8 or 9, so about 3 or 4 years ago now. Our project was the 'Shaggy Quilt' and although I was fairly embarrassed about these lessons and hid them from most people, and although I sometimes dreaded the lesson as it approached, I was secretly thrilled at the idea of finishing my own quilt, which looked pretty damn cool in the photos we saw as at the beginning, to be honest. Just the thought of having my own quilt which i made all on my own and having this as an accomplishment of mine was enough motivation to keep pinning and sewing the squares together!! But once the lessons ended I never finished my quilt...
Until two weeks ago when I decided to bring the quilt out again and finish it. It had been popping up in my mind for the past few months and I'd been getting really excited to finish it, so YAY its now finished and I love it!!!

(Oh and you can click on the images for a HUGE full size photo, which is particularly handy for taking note of the frayed and matted "shagginess")

My beautiful (and FIRST ever) quilt :)
